On Saturday, January 18, at approximately 6:55 p.m., Northwest District officers were called to the 5600 block of Groveland Avenue for a reported shooting.

When they arrived, they found 59-year-old Brian Reed suffering from a gunshot wound, police said. He was rushed to an area hospital but was pronounced dead shortly after arrival.

Investigators quickly identified the shooter as 37-year-old Shanelle Reed, the victim’s daughter, a spokesperson from the Baltimore Police Department said.

According to detectives, the father and daughter were in a heated argument that escalated when Shanelle Reed allegedly shot her father.

Police arrested Shanelle Reed at the scene without incident and transported her to the Central Booking Intake Facility, where she was charged with first-degree murder, authorities announced.

The investigation into the deadly dispute is ongoing as detectives piece together the circumstances that led to the fatal encounter.
